Plot Details of the 2018 Blindspotting Movie
Felon Colin Hoskins is trying to finish the last three days of his parole. He and his friend Miles Turner both work for a moving company in Oakland which is situated in California. One day, Collin sees a white police officer using excessive force on a running black individual. Because Collin is traumatized by the experience, he has sleep disturbances and hallucinations. Meanwhile, Miles becomes frustrated by the transformation of Oakland.
Collin is not in favor of Miles’ decision to buy a gun from a friend for self-defense. As Miles carries on to exhibit unusual traits, Collin’s ex-girlfriend Val cautions Collin about the risks of being friends with him. During dinner that evening, Miles’ gun accidentally falls into his son Sean’s hands. As a result, Sean’s mother Ashley forces Miles and Collin to leave. An irate Miles attacks a black man at a party, who sees Miles’ actions as cultural appropriation. This caused a fight between the black man and Miles.
Miles uses his gun to threaten the guests before Collin stops him. Collin reprimands Miles for his impulsive actions during an angry exchange. Collin is still troubled by the police shooting he saw. During a moving job, Collin and Miles learn the house belongs to Officer Molina, the same officer they saw committing the act. Colin breaks into the officer’s garage and threatens him with a gun. A freestyle rap by Collin criticizes the tension between the police and black Americans as Miles watches from afar. Although he breaks some of the officer’s property, he doesn’t shoot him. Collin and Miles rekindle their friendship as they drive to their next job.
What is Blindspotting Season 1 About?
Before we start discussing Blindspotting Season 2, let us take a look at what the plot of the first season what all about. The TV show picks up 6 months after the events of the film. Ashley’s long-term partner, Miles, is suddenly imprisoned. This situation results in a bizarre and hilarious situation when she and her son Sean are stuck living with Miles’ mother and half-sister. This thwarts Ashley’s aspirations and intensifies the alienation she experiences. Ashley feels like a foreigner in her own town after stepping out without her partner.
