Alec John Such was born on 14th November 1951 in Yonkers, New York in The United States as Alexander John Such. He completed his school and graduated from America. He was introduced to Jon Bon Jovi in the early 1980s while he was working at a music venue in New Jersey. After his meeting with Bon Jovi, he started playing for the band officially in 1983. Before teaming up with Bon Jovi, Such was associated with the band Phantom’s Opera. He was also associated with the 9the band and its co-founding members.

Alec John Such played bass for Bon Jovi from 1983 to 1994. His dismissal in 1994 was a reaction by several members to Such’s “unprofessionalism” and how he leaked personal statements about the band at several press events. Alec John Such played for the band 7th Heaven before officially retiring in 2001. However, he did the last show with Bon Jovi in 2018 on the event of the band’s induction into the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Such has been in relationships with Rita Ray Roxx (1984) and Jane Books (1989). Alec John Such passed away on 5th June 2022. As of now, the cause of his death has not been reported.

Alec John Such is known for being the founding member and the first bassist of Bon Jovi. Such was previously associated with the band Phantom’s Opera. He left Phantom’s Opera after meeting David Bryan and being recommended by him to Jon Bon Jovi. He played for Bon Jovi’s major and grossing albums like Slippery When Wet, 7800°Fahrenheit, and Bon Jovi’s debut album Runaway.  Such played as a bassist and was associated with Bon Jovi for almost 10 years after officially leaving the band in 1994. While some sources mention Such’s unprofessionalism as a cause of his dismissal, some Bon Jovi members claimed that he left due to burnout. He joined and managed the band 7th Heaven shortly after his dismissal and was replaced by Hugh McDonald as Bon Jovi’s bassist. His associated acts include some of his tracks with Styx member James Young.
