The Dating Timeline Of The Currys
The couple met at a church in Charlotte, North Carolina, when Stephen was fifteen and Ayesha was fourteen years old. However, they have been fond of one another since their adolescent years. Ayesha said in an interview about the time when they were just kids. Stephen was the cute church boy that all the girls were obsessed with.
So she anticipated that he wasn’t for her. To this, Stephen says that he doesn’t recall the definite date that he saw her, and he, in Jest, makes a remark saying that there was no wind blowing on her face with a backlight.
In a biography of his life titled The Miraculous Rise Of Steph Curry, his sister reminiscences Ayesha making an impression on her brother over early as she would find him in the church and would barely say two words to him like walk away, and that’s how she would tease him in a way which he liked, and it left an impact on him.
On July 20, 2008, they crossed each other’s paths when Ayesha had to move to Los Angeles to start her career in modeling and acting. It was that time when she reconnected with her future love, which was there for the ESPY Awards, which she had no idea about at that time.
She had a no dating an athlete policy once in her high school, and they were asked to write down the things that they wanted in their significant other at the bottom of that list. She wrote that ‘ no athletes because they are arrogant.
Stephen says that he always had his eyes upon her but got a little shaken for sure. They both spent their day together just as friends, which turned into something romantic soon after their first kiss. They went on their first date at Hollywood Boulevard.
She picked him up in her 98 Astravan, as she mentioned on Jimmy Kimmel Live in June 2019. He wore three excel shorts signifying that it was their first official date. When they were asked how they spent their date, she said that they went to Madam Tussauds and got a Chai Tea Latte.
Later in her defense, she said that they were just eighteen and nineteen years old, so the date was sustainable for them. She was impressed by him as he was good-humored and crazy at the same time, which was the opposite of what she thought he would be.
She later broke the story of the couple’s first kiss, saying that they were in the middle of a conversation and he came flying at her face like a thief at night and she prevented that from happening, but then it happened, and she thought that she didn’t see that coming.
In the same year, she confessed her love for him. He wanted to reciprocate the feeling but couldn’t as he wasn’t sure about it and wanted to say it out when he meant it. Disheartened by the response, Ayesha got in a car and drove away to her home crying.
Though she would have waited a while to hear those words, Stephen wanted it to be memorable, and while they were watching a movie with their families, he turned to her ear and said I love you. She hesitated and said to him (mind you, my parents were sitting right there, your parents too, and the siblings too).
She started to watch the movie normally as she was freaked out as it was very special and he meant what he said. In July 2010, he planned a fake family cook-out, so they pulled up at her house, and he stopped in the middle of his driveway and got down on his knees but little did he know that the whole family was witnessing the occasion through the windows.
The driveway in her parent’s house was the place where they shared their first kiss. He pulled her close and said all those sweet things. It all took her surprise. Stephen posted a picture of Ayesha holding a baby girl several days after her birth, and the picture was captioned ‘and wayyyyyy up. I feel blessed!’. Their third kid arrived on July 2, 2018, named Canon W Jack Curry.
She said that the name was taken from a french word meaning young wolf, as France is their favorite place. They consider their family a pack of wolves. In July 2020, when the covid virus was at its peak, Ayesha was quarantined with her husband, living that experience. She said that during this period, they have been with each other and worked out as partners who took accountability for each other.
She also added that watching herself keeping up with Stephen had been fun. She opened up about needing some time for herself early in her marriage with Stephen to figure out her true self. She said this on Skimm’s podcast from 9 to 5ish with the Skimm.
She said that it was an emotional decision, and yet she did it when they found out that they were expecting a child who was not in their plans she started to realize that she was becoming a mother at such a young age when the other people outside would still potentially be in college or just will be figuring out who they want to be.
