Selena Gomez’s 2016 statement at the American Music Awards is reportedly being criticized by Britney Spears for what appears to be a double standard. She doesn’t wanna see bodies on Instagram; Selena said at the time that she wanna see what’s in here [pointing towards the hearts of people].
Selena Gomez accepted Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist during the 2016 American Music Awards on Nov. 20, 2016, in Los Angeles, California.
Collaborations between K-Pop idols and Western artists are becoming more and more frequent. Disputes between musicians are a typical occurrence in the American music world, and it appears that BLACKPINK has been indirectly involved in one involving pop singers Selena Gomez and Britney Spears. On her Instagram page, Britney recently published a message that appeared to be addressed to Selena Gomez and made specific mention of their “Ice Cream” collaboration with BLACKPINK.

She appeared to criticize Selena Gomez in her post for having hypocritical beliefs that did not line up with her behavior. Britney shared her thoughts about the speech. The singer wrote while posing in a red bikini. Britney made the decision to express her opinions regarding the speech. She continued by making a reference to the popular girl group BLACKPINK in her 2020 music video for “Ice Cream.”
She said, “Don’t you simply admire the guts of ladies who speak up about their convictions about not posting pictures of their bodies on Instagram while receiving awards? Britney claimed that this is not something she would do, but the very same women are the ones who have videos with a $4 million budget made about them licking and sucking on homemade ice cream!!!!! All of the other females’ bodies are stunning!!!! Who cares if they show it off? They ought to! So, the next time she sees someone with a high-budget video sucking on lollipops while giving moral speeches criticizing other ladies for baring their bodies, she would like to remind them not to be hypocrites while they do it. She asked while pointing fingers that people begin to be firm and adamantly opposed to girls gaining attention when they have nothing to do.
Although Britney did not name anyone individually, fans speculated that Britney is directly pointing fingers at Selena Gomez and seemingly calling her ‘A Hypocrite’ for her 2016 Artist Music Awards 2016. Netizens said that she’s throwing judgments on Selena for no reason, and there’s no doubt that Britney Spears is renowned for her uncensored toxic social media captions.
While it is reported that Britney removed the captions by seeing support under Selena’s edge, she not only removed the whole caption but also edited the caption with three rose emojis.

Although Britney hasn’t addressed Selena, her fans have drawn the links indicated above and are upset with her for allegedly tormenting the ‘Only Murders in the Building’ actress. Selena has not yet responded to the uproar that the comments have caused.
Netizens are saying that Britney is suffering from mental trauma, as she spoke several times on Social Media. Spears writes that she is pretty traumatized and pissed. She is stubborn and makes her point — The Guardian reported.
In her Instagram post, Britney said that she would forever be traumatized and there was no way that she would heal so soon. She added that everyone seems to have such a great existence, and whenever she publishes something, she tends to think that she has been horribly ashamed of her history and she could never forget such documentaries. She added a long description to a picture of a pink rose up closes and said that she does attempt to upload pictures of herself when she is at her finest or living the good life, as the case may be.
For the past 13 years, Britney Spears’ financial and personal life has been under the jurisdiction of her father, which is known as a conservatorship, a type of legal guardianship. It was established in 2008, following a public mental health crisis involving the US pop star recognized for hits like Oops I Did It Again! and Toxic.
