Suzanne Malveaux, Jean’s partner, was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. Malveaux studied sociology at Harvard before entering the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She, like her spouse, has a long history in broadcasting. She has previously worked as a White House correspondent and as Wolf Blitzer’s primary successor on The Situation Room.

Suzanne presently works as a national CNN correspondent, causing some to be concerned about a clash of interest regarding her spouse’s new post. Malveaux presented a 90-minute documentary on Senator Barack Obama as the major component of the two series on the 2008 general election presidential contenders ahead of the Democratic and Republican national conventions.

In addition, she participated as a panelist in the Democratic presidential primary discussion in South Carolina in January 2008, which was co-sponsored by CNN and the Congressional Black Caucus. She was also an integral part of CNN’s 2004 coverage of the election and its Emmy-winning 2006 election coverage.

Malveaux has actually interviewed former presidents George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and even the former first lady Laura Bush, as a White House journalist. She has been to Europe, the Balkans, Southeast Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America, and the Middle East to cover presidential excursions. Malveaux traveled to the front areas of Russia’s war on Ukraine in 2022 to cover Lviv for CNN.
