One of the most loved characters in the ‘Kate Plus 8’ show on TLC, Hannah Gosselin, had a great popularity base. She is the second oldest child of the sextuplets in the Gosselin family. Although the family has two other siblings as well, these sextuplets got really famous during the show.

The show ‘Kate Plus 8’ ran for ten years, from 2007 to 2017. During the show, the two parents in the family – Jon and Kate, decided to part ways with each other. Their divorce took place in the year 2009, just two years after the show began.
After this, the bulk of the time, Hanna used to be with her mother. She used to stay with her, along with the other siblings and was in her custody. The name of the show was changed from ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8’ to ‘Kate Plus 8’ after their divorce.
Hannah’s personal life was quite happening as she used to enjoy her share of love and fame from her fans all across the world. She was good with all her siblings and did her job dedicatedly.
However, what appeared on the small screen wasn’t exactly what was happening in their house. One of their family members – Collin, opened up about it.
He said that the time they got together was mostly for the TV, and they hardly had any true bonds beyond the coverage of the camera. Blaming the show at one point for breaking apart their family, he really tried to build up better and stronger bonds with his father later on.
What made Hannah Leave Kate?
As far as things from a third-person perspective are concerned, everything seemed to be normal and in place in the Gosselin house.
However, only the members knew what ate them from within, which they couldn’t even talk about. Although Hannah was always living with her mother initially, her perspective towards it changed later on.
She felt that she needed a little more love and attention than she could practically get in a house with seven more siblings.
Moving with her father gave her all the love and attention, while she also got her own space. Also, she always had a stronger bond with her father, which made things a win-win for her.
After a long custodial battle of 10 years, Hannah and Collin were finally handed over to Jon in September 2018. Since then, they have been living with him while the other siblings stay with her mother.
Although they live afar, they often meet and love one another. Both parents understand the situation of their family, particularly their children, and support them.
