The Academy Award-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis has quietly addressed the criticism she received for a post in which she showed support for Israel after the Hamas attack. Aceshowbiz.com reports that she has taken the divisive post off from her Instagram profile. Jamie had posted a picture of terrified kids staring up at flying missiles in the now-deleted Saturday post.

“Terror from the skies,” the actress from “Everything Everywhere All at Once” captioned the picture, along with an emoji of the Israeli flag. Samar Abu Elouf, the photographer, was also tagged by her. Samar confirmed, however, that the picture actually showed Palestinian children in Gaza running away from Israeli bombs that had been dropped in reprisal.

On her Instagram page, the photographer detailed how the picture showed Palestinian families seeking refuge at UNRWA schools in Gaza City with their kids. Due to the events occurring near the Gaza Strip’s borders, the children were terrified by the sound of bombings as they sought safety. Jamie received harsh criticism from online users for expressing her support for Israel with the wrong image.

Backlash from the netizens

It was made clear in a number of comments and posts across a variety of media that the picture was taken in Gaza and featured Palestinian children. People remarked that the Arabic store signage in the background gave away the location as not being in Israel, where Hebrew would be utilized.

Social media users quickly pointed out Jamie Lee Curtis’ error and simultaneously chastised her for what they saw as naivety after they learned that she had shared a picture from Gaza, which is in Palestine rather than Israel.

Many people complained and said that Jamie Lee Curtis had used an inaccurate caption with the Israeli flag. They condemned her for releasing a picture of Palestinian kids and distorting the situation in what they perceived as an effort to win sympathy for Israel.

Kylie Jenner also received troll over supporting Israel

Jamie Lee Curtis wasn’t the only famous person who received criticism for endorsing Israel. Even though her close friends, Bella, and Gigi Hadid, have been supporting Palestine for years, Kylie Jenner received criticism from online users for sharing a pro-Israel article.

It’s important to note that a number of other famous people, including Nina Dobrev, Amy Schumer, and Gal Gadot, have also declared their support for Israel. Politicians, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and US President Joe Biden, have also condemned the incident and expressed their support.

Thousands of missiles were fired from Gaza by the Islamist organization Hamas on Saturday, sparking the start of the battle. According to media accounts, the fighting has resulted in the deaths of over 1,100 persons on both sides, as well as more than 2,300 wounded.
