Taylor Tomlinson is set to make her debut as the host of a late-night TV show! The 29-year-old comedian has been announced as the face of the upcoming late-night series, “After Midnight,” which will be broadcast on CBS following “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”
During the taping of his own late-night show on November 1, Stephen Colbert, who is also an executive producer of “After Midnight,” unveiled this exciting news. He asked Taylor what excites her the most about her new role.
Taylor humorously replied, “Just having a job. I’ve never had a real job. I’ve been doing stand-up since I was 16, which is not a job, and… I mean, I worked at a buffet and a wax salon, but these are, I didn’t have a job.” She went on to share that she had even resorted to using TikTok to prepare for job interviews, describing the platform as “Google for children.”
Stephen Colbert even shared a screenshot capturing Taylor’s reaction when she learned about her new job the night before.
“After Midnight” is scheduled to occupy the 12:37 am ET/PT time slot on CBS, beginning in early 2024. Stephen expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are thrilled to be reunited with our friends at Funny Or Die. My hope is that every night, AFTER MIDNIGHT will be just as ridiculous as the internet is every day. Plus, the original @midnight aired after The Colbert Report, so welcoming this new show to 12:30 feels like coming home.”
“After Midnight” will fill the slot left vacant by “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” In addition to her late-night hosting gig, you can also catch Taylor’s two Netflix comedy specials, “Look At You” and “Quarter Life Crisis.”
