In the second installment of iHeartRadio’s Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty podcast, Holly Marie Combs delved into the intricacies of her relationships with Charmed co-stars Alyssa Milano and Brian Krause. Reflecting on Doherty’s earlier discussion about her own feud with Milano, Combs, aged 50, disclosed that she never entertained the idea of continuing the show without Doherty, who departed at the end of the third season.
Combs revealed the unexpected revelation that during the turbulent times, Milano and Krause were romantically involved, unbeknownst to her. Recounting the unfolding events over several months, Combs expressed her surprise at the orchestrated plan. She shared an anecdote from a panel in France about a year ago, where Krause, now 54, spontaneously apologized to her on stage.
Describing the moment, Combs recounted, “He just recently — it was about a year ago — in France, we were on stage at a panel that was filled with many, many people, and he just kind of paused.” She continued, “He looked at me like he forgot something, and I kind of looked at him like, ‘What? What’s the problem? Why are you looking at me like that?'” Krause eventually apologized, expressing regret for the challenging times they went through.
Combs acknowledged Krause’s belated but sincere apology, recounting their offstage conversation. Doherty chimed in, emphasizing the importance of the apology, stating, “I mean, it took him like 24 years, but better late than never.” Combs echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the significance of the long-awaited apology.
The podcast also touched on Doherty’s discussion about the competitiveness between her and Milano during the first season of Charmed. Additionally, it explored the challenges Combs faced during the show’s first season due to a uterine tumor, shedding light on the strained dynamics between the co-stars.
The Charmed series, which aired from 1998 to 2006, followed the Halliwell sisters’ journey, played by Doherty, Combs, and Milano, with Rose McGowan joining the cast after Doherty’s departure. Krause portrayed Leo Wyatt, the sisters’ guardian angel, throughout the show’s run on The WB.
