Around the same time that a group affiliated with Club for Growth, supporting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ potential presidential run, spent millions opposing former President Donald Trump, they received a substantial $2.75 million financial boost from Never Back Down to Win It Back PAC, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission on Tuesday.
These transactions shed light on the internal workings of these political action committees (PACs) and the dynamics between different conservative groups.
The money flow from the pro-DeSantis Never Back Down to Win It Back PAC to the pop-up super PAC is particularly notable given their opposition to Trump. In its efforts to halt Trump’s candidacy, Win It Back PAC allocated over $6.4 million for digital and TV ads during the summer, as well as funding a field program and text messaging.

A significant portion of this funding, exceeding $4.5 million, came directly from the Club for Growth, a well-established conservative organization known for opposing Trump’s potential 2024 reelection bid.
Never Back Down, which strongly supported DeSantis and received substantial funds transferred from the governor’s state campaign, emerged as the second-largest donor to Club for Growth.
The campaign against Trump led by Win It Back PAC was relatively short-lived, with the group reporting its last independent expenditures in late August.
Interestingly, some of the group’s advertisements were not aired in the fall after an analysis revealed that the spots, which criticized the former president for his legal troubles, had an unintended negative impact on Republican primary voters.
