Taylor Swift took the stage during “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” at SoFi Stadium on August 09, 2023, in Inglewood, California, captivating the audience with her performance. Meanwhile, as the 2024 election cycle gains momentum, Donald Trump finds himself engaged in a one-sided popularity contest with the renowned pop star.
The former president’s allies have initiated what they term a “holy war” against Swift, driven by her liberal political views and her previous endorsement of President Joe Biden in 2020.
While Swift has not yet endorsed any candidate for the upcoming election, Trump’s camp anticipates her declaration and stands prepared to intensify the ongoing cultural skirmishes in America, as reported by Rolling Stone.
Behind the scenes, the prospect of Swift and Biden potentially joining forces appears to have unsettled Trump. He confidently asserts that he is “more popular” than Swift, emphasizing the allegiance of his fanbase. Moreover, Trump contends that Swift’s endorsement would not significantly bolster Biden’s chances of reelection.
“Joe Biden might be counting on Taylor Swift to save him, but voters are looking at these sky-high inflation rates and saying, ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,’” remarked Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller to Rolling Stone.
This isn’t the first instance of Trump publicly targeting Swift. In the 2018 midterm election, he expressed a diminished appreciation for her music after she denounced Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn and instead endorsed two Democrats.
Swift also criticized Trump in 2020, accusing him of “blatantly cheating and putting millions of Americans’ lives at risk” due to the Trump administration’s efforts to hinder mail-in voting during the election.
