During a recent segment of “Real Time with Bill Maher,” the host delved into the latest findings from special counsel Robert Hur’s report, released earlier this week.
In the report, a Trump-appointed U.S. attorney concluded that President Biden had “willfully” retained classified documents after his tenure as vice president, yet would not face charges in the investigation. Maher humorously characterized Biden as a forgetful elderly individual, akin to the fictional character Mr. Magoo.
Maher expressed his views on Hur’s report, suggesting that the extensive documentation criticizing Biden’s memory could have been endorsed with a tagline akin to “I’m Donald Trump, and I approve this message.” He concurred with the report to some extent, remarking that Biden is not helping his own case.
The host commenced the segment by highlighting several incidents from the week, remarking on Biden’s absence from the traditional Super Bowl interview and humorously suggesting he won’t be appearing on “Dancing With The Stars” anytime soon.
Maher then recounted instances where Biden confused French President Macron with former President Mitterrand, who passed away in 1996, and Angela Merkel with the late Helmut Kohl, former Chancellor of Germany. He concluded the segment with a quip from Biden about the controversy being inconsequential compared to his desire to watch the Super Bowl and enjoy the halftime show with Toby Keith.
