Tragically, the suspect was found deceased around 8 a.m. Sunday, while the family and children emerged unharmed. City officials identified the fallen officers as Paul Elmstrand and Matthew Ruge, both 27, along with firefighter and paramedic Adam Finseth, 40, who was fatally shot while providing aid to an injured officer.

The community is in mourning, with flags across Minnesota lowered to half-staff to honor the fallen heroes. Hundreds of people, including representatives from various departments, gathered for a solemn candlelight vigil outside Burnsville City Hall to pay their respects.
