Michael Cohen, former personal lawyer to ex-President Trump and now a vocal critic, has lambasted Trump’s latest merchandise venture, “Never Surrender” golden sneakers, suggesting they serve as a clear indicator of whom to avoid.
In an interview with CNN’s Abby Phillip, Cohen mocked Trump’s new sneakers, comparing them unfavorably to designs by Michael Jordan and Kanye West. Cohen described the sneakers as “repulsive” and “ugly-looking,” suggesting they are manufactured cheaply in China.
Cohen further criticized the sneakers, stating that anyone wearing them would be easily identifiable as sharing Trump’s controversial views. He labeled wearers as “racist, sexist, misogynist, xenophobic, homophobic, Islamophobic, antisemites,” signaling they are individuals to steer clear of.
Trump unveiled the sneakers at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia, alongside other products like Victory 47 Cologne and Victory 47 Perfume, emphasizing that these items are not associated with his presidential campaign or the Trump Organization.
Despite facing allegations of perjury, Cohen’s testimony against Trump in a civil fraud trial last October was deemed “credible” by Judge Arthur Engoron. The judge’s ruling ordered Trump to pay over $355 million in penalties.
Cohen’s remarks underscore the ongoing rift between him and Trump, stemming from Cohen’s legal troubles and his decision to cooperate with authorities against the former president.
