Duane “Keffe D” Davis, a key figure in the investigation into the killing of rapper Tupac Shakur, has had his trial date postponed to November 4th.
This decision was made by Clark County District Court Judge Carli Kierny in light of Davis acquiring a new attorney, Carl Arnold, and the ongoing process of prosecutors providing evidentiary material to him.
The trial was originally scheduled for June 3rd but has been pushed back to allow both sides more time to prepare. Davis has been in prison since his arrest in September.
He has the option to be released on $750,000 bail, with the possibility of being placed under house arrest if he can raise the required 10%.
His new attorney, Arnold, has indicated that Davis expects to be able to raise the funds with the help of his relatives. However, Davis expressed reluctance to undergo a “source hearing” in court to prove that the funds were obtained legally.
The delay in the trial date comes as Davis navigates the legal process with his new attorney. The case has garnered significant attention due to Davis’s alleged involvement in the killing of Tupac Shakur, a crime that has remained unsolved for decades. Davis’s trial will be closely watched as it progresses later this year.
