Student Charged with Killing Christian College Wrestler in Kentucky

Josiah Kilman, an 18-year-old college wrestler at Campbellsville University in Kentucky, was tragically killed by a fellow student over the weekend. Authorities were called to the private Christian university early Saturday, where Kilman was found unresponsive in his dorm room.

Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at a hospital. An autopsy will be conducted by the state to determine the exact cause of death.

Following the incident, a campus lockdown was initiated and later lifted after a 21-year-old student was arrested by state police. The arrest came after a report of a suspicious person in a barn.

The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, has been charged with murder and second-degree burglary. Bond has been set at $2 million, but details about the motive or circumstances of the killing have not been released by authorities.

Josiah Kilman, hailing from Montana, was a member of the wrestling team at Campbellsville University. University President Joseph Hopkins expressed deep sorrow over Kilman’s death, describing him as a “bright light” and a person of incredible hope whose faith was contagious.

Hopkins shared that he had prayed with the wrestling team and coaches, offering support as they navigate this difficult time. The tragic loss of Josiah Kilman has deeply impacted the Campbellsville University community.

As they mourn his passing, they also stand together in solidarity, offering their support to Kilman’s loved ones and honoring his memory.
