Camden County Republicans have chosen Curtis Bashaw as their U.S. Senate candidate for the June primary, a move that aligns with the regional support he’s garnered from South Jersey GOP county chairs. Bashaw, a critic of Donald Trump, is vying for the seat held by Democrat Bob Menendez.
Bashaw, a successful real estate developer and hotel owner from Cape May, has been endorsed by the GOP screening committee and received the party’s organization line from Camden County Chairman Tom Crone.
Crone praised Bashaw’s business acumen and commitment to conservative principles, citing him as an ideal candidate for the Senate.

This marks Bashaw’s fifth organization line, having previously won conventions in Atlantic, Ocean, Cumberland, and Somerset counties. Crone’s support for Bashaw is part of a broader regional alliance among South Jersey Republican leaders.
Interestingly, Camden Republicans are also supporting Trump, despite Bashaw’s past criticisms of the former president. This sets up a dynamic where Trump and a more moderate candidate share a county line.
In addition to Bashaw, Teddy Liddell, a West Point graduate and U.S. Army veteran, is running on the Camden line for Congress against incumbent Rep. Donald Norcross (D-Camden) in New Jersey’s 1st district.

Liddell is praised for his service to the country and his understanding of district issues, particularly his support for the military and traditional family values.
The 1st district is heavily Democratic, and Norcross has previously defeated his Republican challengers by significant margins. However, Liddell faces competition from former school board member Claire Gustafson, Damon Galdo, a union carpenter, and Nicholas Whitelock, a real estate investor.
While ten Republicans are seeking the U.S. Senate nomination, only Bashaw, former News 12 New Jersey reporter Alex Zdan, and Mendham Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner have secured organization lines during the state’s convention season.
Serrano Glassner has lines in Hunterdon, Morris, Union, and Warren, while Zdan has them in Monmouth and Passaic.
