According to a recent Emerson College Polling/The Hill poll, former President Trump continues to hold a lead over President Biden in Georgia, a critical swing state.
The poll found Trump leading Biden by 4 points, with 46 percent support compared to Biden’s 42 percent, with 12 percent of respondents undecided.
When undecided voters are pressed to choose, Trump’s lead remains at 4 points, with 52 percent support compared to Biden’s 48 percent.
When third-party candidates are included, Trump’s lead expands to 6 points, with 44 percent support, followed by Biden at 37 percent, Independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at 5 percent, independent Cornel West at 2 percent, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 1 percent.
Kennedy’s support appears to come from a diverse group, including voters under 40, independents, Democrats, and Republicans, according to the poll.
Thirty percent of Biden supporters’ primary motivation is their dislike of Trump, while 15 percent of Trump voters said the same. The economy was identified as the most important issue facing Georgia, followed by immigration and healthcare.
On immigration and the conflict between Israel and Hamas, voters in Georgia trust Trump more, with 54 percent and 46 percent support, respectively. Biden leads on handling abortion access, with 56 percent support. The poll was conducted from March 5 to 7 among 1,000 registered voters, and the credibility interval was 3 points.
