Yesterday, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the President’s Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement (PAC-ADE), hosted a special edition of “Advance with Africa” in Atlanta.
This national roadshow, initiated by the U.S. Chamber, aims to spotlight the abundant trade and investment opportunities in Africa, a continent experiencing rapid urbanization and industrialization and projected to host a quarter of the world’s population by 2050.
Kendra Gaither, President of the U.S.-Africa Business Center at the U.S. Chamber, expressed enthusiasm for the program’s impact since its launch in Atlanta in 2022.
Gaither highlighted how “Advance with Africa” has engaged thousands of U.S. entrepreneurs eager to expand their businesses through trade and investment in Africa.
The initiative has proven instrumental in strengthening economic ties between the U.S. and Africa, and Gaither emphasized the importance of the private sector in driving this relationship forward.
The collaboration between the U.S. Chamber and PAC-ADE underscores the recognition from the highest levels of government of the valuable contributions that American business leaders from the African diaspora offer in fostering economic growth between the U.S. and African nations.
The Atlanta roadshow attracted a diverse audience, from small business owners to corporate executives, and facilitated discussions on accessing the necessary tools for expanding businesses into Africa.
Speakers included past participants of “Advance with Africa” who shared their successful experiences, as well as members of the President’s Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement.
Through engaging dialogues, speeches, and panels featuring leaders from the public and private sectors, “Advance with Africa” aims to enhance U.S. business owners’ awareness of commercial and investment prospects in Africa.
With a specific focus on engaging small- and medium-sized enterprises and Black-owned businesses, the initiative strives to foster inclusive growth for American entrepreneurs while reshaping perceptions of Africa.
The “Advance with Africa” roadshow plans to continue its journey, including organizing its first-ever business delegation to Africa later this year.
This ongoing effort demonstrates a commitment to expanding economic opportunities and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships between the U.S. and Africa. For more information on “Advance with Africa,” interested parties can visit the program’s website.
