Home Secretary James Cleverly strongly rejected Josef Fritzl’s wish to move to Britain if he ever gets out of prison. Fritzl, an 88-year-old man from Austria, has been in jail since 2009 for holding his daughter, Elisabeth, captive in a cellar for 24 years. During that time, he did very bad things to her and fathered seven children with her.
Now, Fritzl wants to come to the UK. He saw a movie about Shakespeare in prison and said it made him want to move here. He talked about visiting Scotland’s Highlands and Wales’s green fields.
But Cleverly said no way. He said, “This terrible person will never come to our country. We won’t let anyone who did such bad things come to the UK.”
Fritzl said he wanted to come to Britain after watching a movie. He said, “When I watched the movie, I felt happy and inspired by the UK’s wonderful culture. That’s why I want to come there, especially to Scotland’s wild Highlands.”
But Elisabeth, Fritzl’s daughter, hopes he stays in jail forever. She wants him to pay for what he did to her and her children. Fritzl hurt her very badly when she was trapped in the cellar. She doesn’t want him ever to be free. Fritzl has been in jail since 2009 for doing very bad things. He won’t be allowed to come to the UK.
