Fox News columnist Liz Peek didn’t mince words when she criticized Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, labeling the conservative as an “idiot” whose actions are detrimental to the Republican Party’s agenda.
In a scathing opinion piece published on the outlet’s website, Peek admonished Greene for her disruptive behavior within the party ranks, urging her to redirect her energy towards opposing Democrats instead of causing internal strife.
Peek accused Greene of prioritizing self-serving theatrics over the collective goals of the Republican Party, likening her approach to “burning down the House” figuratively.
Greene’s recent efforts to push a motion-to-vacate resolution against House Speaker Mike Johnson, stemming from his handling of foreign aid considerations, drew particular ire from Peek.
While Johnson dismissed Greene’s motion as “absurd,” only Rep. Thomas Massie has openly supported her stance, leaving the timing of a potential vote on Johnson’s removal uncertain.
Peek condemned this internal conflict within the GOP, emphasizing the need for unity and constructive engagement rather than divisive infighting.
Peek urged Greene to recognize the importance of democratic processes within the party and to channel her opposition to certain policies through appropriate channels such as voting against them.
She concluded her critique with a pointed message to Greene, borrowing from Hillary Clinton: “Get over yourself. The mission today is to elect Donald Trump.”
