Senator Ted Cruz, a Republican representing Texas, voiced his concerns during an interview with Newsmax on Thursday regarding President Joe Biden’s policies towards Iran and their implications for Israel.
Cruz criticized the Biden administration’s decision to relax sanctions on Iran, allowing the regime access to frozen assets, which he claims has resulted in over $100 billion flowing to the Islamic regime since Biden took office.
In Cruz’s view, this influx of funds indirectly contributed to recent attacks by Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists in southern Israel, as well as Iran’s missile and drone attacks on Israel.
He accused the Biden administration of being the most anti-Israel administration in U.S. history, alleging that their policies have undermined Israel’s security while aiding its enemies.
Cruz highlighted Iran’s hostile rhetoric and its financial support for Hamas, a group responsible for numerous terrorist activities targeting Israel. He claimed that 90% of Hamas’ funding comes from Iran, making Biden’s decision to provide financial relief to Iran particularly concerning.
According to Cruz, Biden’s actions have essentially financed acts of terror against Israel, including recent attacks on Israeli soil. As a member of the Senate Judiciary and Foreign Relations committees, Cruz expressed his dissatisfaction with the Biden administration’s approach to foreign policy, labeling it “an absolute disaster.”
Cruz contrasted the current state of affairs with what he perceives as the peace and prosperity inherited by Biden upon taking office. He lamented what he sees as a deterioration in domestic and international stability under the current administration, citing crises at the southern border and conflicts in Europe and the Middle East.
Cruz believes a reversal of Biden’s policies is necessary to restore stability and support America’s allies. He advocates for bolstering relationships with friends and allies rather than the administration’s pattern of undermining them.
