Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Thursday to question why Europe wasn’t stepping up with more aid for Ukraine as Congress moved closer to resolving a months-long deadlock over legislation to provide billions of dollars in security assistance to Kyiv, Taiwan, and Israel.
In his post, Trump expressed bewilderment at the disparity between the amount of aid provided by the United States and that contributed by Europe.

He pointed out that the United States had already invested over $100 billion in the conflict in Ukraine, while Europe’s contributions appeared comparatively limited, despite the shared importance of Ukrainian survival and strength.
Trump emphasized the urgency of the situation, urging Europe to match or exceed the financial support provided by the United States. He underscored the importance of international solidarity in assisting a country in dire need, calling on Europe to take action promptly.

Meanwhile, in Congress, House Speaker Mike Johnson exposed bills mirroring the Senate’s $95 billion security assistance package, allocating serious funds to address the conflict in Ukraine, support Israel, and bolster the Indo-Pacific region.
Despite opposition from some members of his own party, Johnson announced plans for a vote as early as Saturday, highlighting the need for bipartisan support to secure passage in the closely divided House.
