Melania Trump is emphasizing the importance of unity and prioritizing the “safety” of Americans if her husband, former President Trump, succeeds in his bid to return to the White House.
In an interview with Fox News Digital published on Friday, the former first lady stated, “The safety and well-being of American families remains my top priority.” She continued, “Our children are our future leaders, tomorrow’s innovators.”
As a former model and first lady, Trump launched the “Be Best” initiative in 2018, focusing on childhood wellness and anti-bullying efforts. In the Fox News Digital interview, she stressed the need for unity, saying, “We must unite in our effort to establish a society where equality is the everyday experience of every American.”
She added, “Together, we must nourish and safeguard the seeds of liberty. Because, when successful, America blossoms into a magnificent place where everyone can practice their beliefs, share new ideas, and express individualism — this is when we are our best.”
Trump’s remarks come ahead of a rare public appearance on Saturday, where she is scheduled to speak at an event hosted by the Log Cabin Republicans, the largest GOP organization representing LGBTQ individuals, at Mar-a-Lago, the former president’s Florida resort home.
She has remained largely absent from the campaign trail alongside her husband, the former commander-in-chief. Last month, while casting her ballot with her husband in Florida’s Republican primary, a reporter asked Trump if she would return to the campaign trail. She responded with a hint, saying, “Stay tuned.”
