Fox News swiftly removed a six-part miniseries focused on Hunter Biden from its streaming platform after receiving legal threats from his attorneys. The program, titled “The Trial of Hunter Biden,” delved into his legal issues and featured se*xually explicit content.
While Fox News initially defended the material, they eventually decided to take it down, citing a review of the concerns raised by Biden’s legal team.
The miniseries, available on the Fox Nation digital streaming network and promoted on Fox News, attracted controversy for its portrayal of Hunter Biden‘s overseas financial dealings, which have led to federal tax indictment and contributed to a House Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into his father, President Joe Biden.
The program included se*xually explicit images of Hunter Biden with women, presented as part of a “mock trial.”
Hunter Biden has maintained his innocence regarding the federal charges he faces, with his trial scheduled to commence in late June in California. His lawyers accused Fox News of defamation and the “unlawful publication of hacked intimate images,” suggesting potential violations of “revenge porn” laws.
In response, Fox News emphasized its adherence to the First Amendment and the accuracy of its coverage. However, they decided to remove the miniseries from their platform temporarily, pending further review of the legal concerns raised by Hunter Biden’s legal team.
