As much as we want this year to end, we can’t deny the fact that the present year gave us some very interesting shows to watch. And that adds one more reason to jump off into a new year at the soonest because we can’t wait to witness the upcoming seasons of some fascinating shows, one of them being-Hundred.
Hundred is an Indian action comedy web series that premiered on Hotstar on 25th April 2020. The 8-episode show marked the debut of Lara Dutta on an OTT platform, along with her power-packed comeback. Having been away from the screens for so long, she has managed to cast a spell on the audience once again. But she isn’t the only one who’s work is worth mentioning. The show also marks the debut of superhit Marathi film ‘Sairat’ fame Rinku Rajguru on an OTT platform. She, after her exceptional work in her previous film, has managed to draw all our attention towards her once again.
So getting into a little depth of the plot and the story, Lara Dutta plays an ACP officer Saumya Shukla who is posted in Mumbai. She doesn’t like her work environment much and struggles to get more respect from her colleagues and a position she deserves in the department. She is often subjected to chauvinism at work, and this frustrates the capable officer to the core. In addition to that, she also believes she has a similarly doomed personal life that makes her feel hopeless. Her husband is into the same occupation and is looking out for a powerful case that grabs him some media attention. We tend to see that Saumya feels there’s jealousy prevailing between them, which makes their relationship sour.
On the other hand, we see Rinku Rajguru as Netra Patil, who is the sole bread earner of her family. Her life is crushed between her government job and the responsibilities she fulfills. She has hopes of going to Switzerland someday but is restricted within the four walls of her hectic life. But what makes her life worse is when she gets diagnosed with a fourth-stage brain tumor, and the doctor lets her know that she has roughly a hundred days until she life-‘hundred’ as the title suggests.
Being blown away by the news of the mishap, she promises herself to live the last hundred days of her life by doing things that make her feel alive on the inside, and coincidentally she meets Saumya Shukla at the bar. She agrees to be an undercover agent, team up with the police officer, and help her accomplish various tasks in the police department. And this marks the creation of a winning team of two women, who are all set to turn Mumbai upside down.
The story might drown you into thinking that it is solely based on the idea of two totally different women who happen to be each other’s support. But well, well… before jumping to any conclusions, tune into the show and find out the shocking ending the show has to offer. As much as we hate spoilers, we know you hate it two.

Coming to the news about the second season, there has been no official announcement yet. But Makarand Deshpande, who did a cameo in the series as Sattu Uncle, said that the team has told him about a second season hitting the screens soon, and he is excited about it. So with this statement, and keeping in mind the ending of the show’s first season, we can surely hope for a second season anytime in 2021. We’ll keep you updated regarding further news.
