Shepard Fairey, known for his famous “Hope” poster of former President Obama, is now introducing a new piece to support Vice President Harris’s campaign for the White House.
Fairey’s latest artwork, titled “Forward,” delivers a clear, one-word message. Accompanying the poster, Fairey shared on Instagram his belief that Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, represent the best opportunity to advance the nation.
In his post, Fairey emphasized that Harris and Walz are positioned to counteract the rise of fascism and safeguard democracy, presenting a chance to build a better world. He cited Harris’s recent rally line, “We are not going back,” as a source of inspiration for his design. Fairey interpreted this sentiment as a call to progress, urging people to move forward despite challenges and opposition.
Mirroring his 2008 Obama poster in style, Fairey’s new piece showcases a tri-color image of Harris with the word “Forward” prominently displayed in bold capital letters.
Fairey explained that his artwork serves as a tool for grassroots activism and is available for free download. He stated, “I was not paid for it and will not receive any financial benefit from it. I created this work purely in pursuit of a better future.”
