Zelensky thanks UAE and partners for facilitating the return of 115 Ukrainian captives

On the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared on X that “115 more of our defenders have returned home.” These individuals included members of the National Guard, Armed Forces, Navy, and State Border Guard Service.

Zelensky emphasized the country’s commitment to recovering all captives, stating that the search efforts for missing personnel continue. He also expressed gratitude to the units that contribute to replenishing the exchange fund.

The president further acknowledged the critical role that these efforts play in securing the release of military personnel and civilians from Russian captivity. He also extended his appreciation to the UAE and Ukraine’s partners for their support.

Earlier this summer, Russia also conducted a prisoner exchange with the United States, involving figures like Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and former Marine Paul Whelan.

During that period, President Biden pledged to continue working to free those wrongfully detained worldwide, promising their families, “We see you, we stand with you, and we will never stop until your loved ones are home.”
