Speaking on “The Daily Blast with Greg Sargent,” Carville remarked that Trump is likely feeling unsettled, noting that the vice president’s campaign has gained traction, leaving the Trump team appearing “dazed” and “off balance.”
When asked if Trump is aware of his diminishing impact, Carville confidently replied, “Yes and yes.” He characterized Trump as having a strong survival instinct, yet he believes Trump is struggling with the realization that Harris has become the political figure he once was—an influential and sought-after leader. Carville, who previously advised President Clinton, emphasized that Trump is no longer the fresh, compelling force he once was and is now grappling to reclaim that status.

During the podcast, Carville admitted he typically critiques campaigns but has found little to criticize in Harris’s so far. He praised the team for its rapid organization, citing their successful execution of key events and the merging of staff from different political backgrounds. Carville gave them “high marks” for their efforts, noting their impressive performance since Harris’s candidacy gained momentum.
Carville also conveyed optimism about Harris’s chances in the upcoming election, highlighting her growth in influence and pointing out that since 2022, Democrats have maintained a winning streak in elections, with few exceptions. His confidence in Harris’s prospects appears stronger than what he has publicly conveyed, underscoring his belief in her growing political power.
