Following his wife Linda Yvette Mathis’ divorce filing, TV judge Gregory Mathis is opening up about the real reason behind their separation while dismissing rumors of infidelity. “These are the worst days of my life,” Mathis shared with TMZ on August 30 at LAX airport. “Maybe I’ll serve as a cautionary tale for other men—don’t neglect your wife, or this is what happens.” While addressing cheating allegations, he acknowledged that Linda had valid reasons to feel suspicious.
“Being away as much as I have can naturally lead to doubts,” he explained. “When you’re always gone for work, traveling for events, and attending gatherings without your wife, she has every right to suspect something.”

However, he stressed that infidelity wasn’t the cause. Greg, who shares four children with Linda—daughters Jade and Camara, and sons Greg Jr. and Amir—revealed that after moving his show to Los Angeles earlier in the year, he had planned to focus more on their relationship.
“I promised to stay home more and make my wife a priority,” he admitted. “But as you can see, I’m still out traveling and continuing with the same lifestyle.” Nonetheless, Greg is committed to saving their marriage.
“We’re still living together and maintaining a friendship,” he told the outlet. “Now, I have to prove to her that I can change. Hopefully, I can do that before she completes the divorce process.” Despite the challenges, he remains hopeful, stating, “I’m going to get my wife back.”
Linda officially filed for divorce on August 22, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to documents obtained by E! News. She is seeking spousal support, though Greg has requested that this be waived. The couple, who married in 1985, has long been a pillar of support for each other, with Mathis often crediting Linda for his career success.
“My family was the foundation of everything I’ve achieved,” Greg shared on the E! reality series Mathis Family in 2022. “After leaving the streets of Detroit, Linda supported me through long working hours, allowing me to build my career.” Linda echoed his sentiments, saying, “Our love and support run deep. That’s the Mathis family.”
In an Instagram post, Greg also celebrated their relationship, sharing a moment from Linda’s birthday alongside their grandchildren. “Had an amazing birthday celebration for Linda,” he captioned. “Tonight, we’re having an adult celebration.”
