Boris Becker and Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro, who have been together for two years, recently celebrated their marriage in Italy. Their wedding, held on Saturday, was a touching and private affair. This marks Becker’s third marriage; his previous spouses include German actress Barbara Feltus (1993-2001) and Dutch model Sharlely Kerssenberg (2009-2018).
The couple began their relationship in 2022, during a tumultuous period for Becker, who was facing legal issues related to bankruptcy. Following his release from prison shortly thereafter, Becker and Lilian have been closely bonded.
On September 14, they formalized their commitment through a three-day wedding ceremony attended by Becker’s sons, Noah and Elias, ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi, and notable guests such as Dutch footballer Ruud Gullit and German model Boris Kodjoe.
Since his release just in time for Christmas 2022, Becker has been actively engaged in the tennis community. He has worked as a commentator for Eurosport and briefly coached Holger Rune before their partnership ended. Becker has openly discussed how his prison sentence, which lasted eight months, profoundly impacted him, expressing that the experience has led to personal growth.
Becker has expressed deep gratitude towards his children for their support and hopes to enjoy a peaceful and fulfilling life with Lilian. “My children are my main source of motivation. I look forward to living the rest of my life in happiness, peace, and freedom. I’m content, driven, and continue to work diligently. I appreciate that my partners stood by me and gave me another chance.
I aim to regain their trust. I’ve learned a lot during my time in prison and believe it has made me a better person,” Becker shared with German TV broadcaster Sat 1. Since his retirement in 1999, Becker now resides in Germany, having been deported from the UK following his imprisonment in 2022.
