Before her marriage to Stephen Wissmann, Jana Duggar had a private romance, but now she’s offering fans a look into the process of planning their wedding by sharing a video that highlights her journey of finding the perfect wedding dress.
On September 7, the 34-year-old former Counting On star uploaded a video on her YouTube channel documenting her wedding preparations. The video began with a tour of her wedding venue, The Grand at Willow Spring in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
Following the tour, Jana visited a bridal shop with her sisters Jessa Seewald and Joy-Anna Forsyth, along with her sister-in-law Abbie Duggar.
A heartwarming moment as Jana’s sisters support her in selecting a gown that embodies elegance and femininity
When asked about her thoughts on getting married, Jana admitted, “It’s crazy. It hasn’t fully sunk in yet.” Joy-Anna, 26, expressed her excitement, saying it was “so fun” to see her older sister try on wedding gowns.
Throughout the video, Jana tried on six different dresses, including a lace gown with no sleeves and an off-the-shoulder dress. She even tried on a more daring, backless design.
“After trying on so many dresses, one clearly stood out from the rest,” Jana shared in a voiceover as the video transitioned to her in the gown she finally wore on her wedding day to Stephen, 31.
The dress resembled a gown she had previously found online, and she couldn’t help but express how happy she was with how closely they matched. As her sisters admired the dress, the clip ended with Jana holding a heart-shaped sign that read, “I found the one!”
“I honestly can’t believe I found my dress much faster than I expected,” she added in the voiceover. “It feels almost too easy, but I’m really thrilled to have this major task checked off my list.”
Shortly after the video was posted, many fans took to the comments section to share their happiness for her. One fan wrote, “I love how all the girls are so excited for Jana! I’m thrilled that God brought Jana and Stephen together!” Another commented,
“The dress she chose was absolutely perfect for her—elegant, modern, and feminine. The wedding was stunning. Love and prayers to the happy couple.”
The couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony on August 15, with 500 guests in attendance. Many longtime fans were overjoyed to see Jana find love, especially as she was the last adult Duggar daughter to get married.
After revealing her wedding, Jana candidly discussed her decision to marry later than most of her siblings. “I’ve wondered, ‘What’s wrong? Is it me? Do I have a problem?’” she shared in an interview with People in August.
She reflected on how she had prayed for years for the right person and admitted that it was tough at times. “It’s been discouraging at moments, especially when most of my siblings got married in their early 20s,” she explained.
However, despite the challenges of waiting longer to find love, Jana acknowledged that this allowed her to connect more deeply with her siblings and friends and experience things that many who marry young may not have had the chance to do.
