Following her breakup with Georges Berthonneau, Married At First Sight UK star Peggy Rose Lawrence has opened up about her new romantic involvement. The couple, who were matched on the recent season of the reality TV series, confirmed their separation on Valentine’s Day, with Peggy sharing the news through a heartfelt statement.
At the time of their split, Peggy expressed profound sadness, stating she was “absolutely heartbroken.” Now, seven months later, she has been spotted with a new man, though she clarified that they are not officially in a relationship yet.
According to The Sun, Peggy, who is also working on a boutique hotel and plans to launch a fashion store, attended an event with her new companion. While she noted that they are not yet a couple, she mentioned that their relationship is progressing positively.
Peggy has also shared that her new partner gets along well with her family. This update follows her earlier announcement of the split from Georges, which she made public on Valentine’s Day.
On Instagram, Peggy explained her recent silence: “I’m so sorry I’ve been quiet on socials, but there’s a reason for my absence. Georges and I are no longer together, and I’m truly heartbroken.”
She continued, “It’s taken me weeks to process this change, and with it being Valentine’s Day, I couldn’t pretend to be okay. I appreciate everyone’s support throughout our journey… nobody is more upset than I am.”
In response to the breakup, Georges wrote on Instagram, “I’m heartbroken by our separation and trying to adjust to life without Peggy. I know many of you have questions, but I’m not ready to discuss this further yet. Thank you for the supportive messages.”
Earlier in the year, Peggy reflected on her MAFS experience in an interview with OK! and shared her thoughts on the journey. “I can’t explain how much I loved it. It was the best thing I’ve ever done! Even the challenging moments were worth it,” she said.
She added, “I’m not going to delve into past relationships, but I view it as a learning experience. Life has its ups and downs, and ours were just more publicized!”
