Catelynn Baltierra, known from Teen Mom, recently shared her thoughts on her challenging relationship with her eldest daughter Carly’s adoptive parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis.
In a post on her Instagram Stories dated September 11, the 32-year-old expressed her frustration, stating, “I used to think that I only messaged Carly updates about her sisters and our vacations.” She emphasized that she has consistently reached out to inquire about Carly’s well-being, interests, and school activities, asking for FaceTime calls and updates.
Catelynn explained that only “more recently” had she started sending “weekly updates” about her family and Carly’s sisters, noting that her attempts had often been met with silence. “Carly must know about her sisters and stay informed,” she insisted.
In another post, she highlighted the numerous unanswered messages over the years, hinting that she and her husband, Tyler, had to take drastic steps just to get in touch with Brandon and Teresa.
Since their teenage years, Catelynn and Tyler have had a complicated journey, welcoming Carly in 2009 and later having three daughters: Novalee in 2015, Vaeda in 2019, and Rya in 2021.
Catelynn detailed her frustrations, writing, “You have NO idea how many times I’ve asked about Carly’s activities or how she’s doing.” She noted that many times her messages went unanswered for weeks, illustrating the challenges they’ve faced to maintain contact. “Most of the time, reaching out was met with silence,” she added.
Her comments came just two days after she criticized Carly’s adoptive parents for blocking her, further emphasizing the strained dynamics between them. “Adoption can be difficult… I’m blocked for simply sending updates and pictures of her sisters,” she lamented in a post on September 9. “How does that benefit Carly and her siblings?”
Catelynn expressed sadness over the situation, stating her greater concern was for all the children involved. “As a biological mother, you feel powerless… All I can do is show Carly how hard I’ve tried,” she noted, emphasizing that Carly will eventually see who distanced themselves.
She suggested that Brandon and Teresa might be avoiding contact out of fear that Carly would start asking why they don’t meet more often or why they can’t visit. “I will ALWAYS support Carly’s love for her parents,” she affirmed. “However, their decision to keep us apart doesn’t benefit her.”
Previously, Catelynn, Tyler, and their daughters enjoyed regular visits with Carly, including a memorable gathering in 2023. In August 2023, the couple described that reunion as “absolutely amazing,” expressing their joy in seeing all the girls together. “It’s wonderful to connect with Carly as she gets older and discuss her interests,” Catelynn said, adding a lighthearted note about school crushes.
