Jenn Tran has addressed rumors swirling around her and Jonathon Johnson as the two have been spotted together since the finale of The Bachelorette. Following the conclusion of The Bachelorette’s 21st season, Jenn and Jonathon seem inseparable, frequently seen in public together.
The duo has been out on dinner dates, shared playful TikToks, and attended several social events. Jonathon even made an appearance in the front row to support Jenn during her first performance on Dancing with the Stars.
During an interview with Us Weekly, Jenn, 26, expressed her gratitude for having such a supportive “good friend” by her side, especially after her painful breakup with The Bachelorette winner Devin Strader.
“It’s truly meaningful,” Jenn explained at the September 17 premiere of Dancing with the Stars. Jenn appreciates Jonathon’s friendship as she adjusts to life in Los Angeles, emphasizing how much she values having someone reliable to lean on during this phase of her life.
During Dancing with the Stars’ 33rd season opener, Jenn teamed up with professional dancer Sasha Farber for a cha-cha routine to Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers,” which reflected her journey post-The Bachelorette. Their performance earned 19 out of 30 points from the judges, placing them in the middle of the leaderboard.
As Jenn’s moment in the spotlight uncovered, cameras zoomed in on Jonathon sitting alongside familiar faces from Bachelor Nation, including Justin Glaze, Susie Evans, and Jason Tartick. Jenn shared that the positive scores were a surprise, joking that she had anticipated much lower marks from the panel. “I was prepared for all twos,” Jenn said humorously.
Excited about her performance, Jenn noted that the experience was thrilling because she tends to be overly self-critical, and for once, she allowed herself to have fun. However, she admitted there were areas for improvement, like remembering to smile and relax during future performances.
Her biggest challenge is letting go of the need for perfection, as Jenn explained that it’s when she loosens up that everything else naturally falls into place. Fans of Jenn and Jonathon have been speculating about their relationship ever since the two reconnected shortly after the season wrapped in early September.
Jenn recently shared on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s podcast, Off the Vine, that she’s on great terms with Jonathon and some other contestants from her season of The Bachelorette. While some might find it odd, Jenn insisted that she just wants to maintain friendships with her former suitors and has no regrets about how things turned out.
She also mentioned she’s likely to be seen out for drinks with both Jonathon and her fourth-place finisher, Jeremy Simon. Despite the strong bonds, Jenn clarified that she isn’t looking for anything romantic with any of them, emphasizing the importance of preserving the friendships they built.
When Jonathon was asked about possibly taking his friendship with Jenn to the next level on The Viall Files, he admitted it’s a complicated situation, noting that some people may have fallen for the idea of him rather than his true self. Being eliminated in third place during The Bachelorette left Jonathon feeling that others could see his value, but not the person he wanted to recognize it.
Though he isn’t ruling out the possibility of something more between them, Jonathon pointed out that Jenn living in Los Angeles for a few months will give them the chance to discuss their relationship more deeply. Host Nick Viall advised Jonathon to avoid stringing fans along if nothing is going to materialize romantically, citing the example of Bachelorette alums Hannah Brown and Tyler Cameron.
Jonathon responded by questioning what happens when neither party is certain about their feelings, leaving the situation up in the air. Nick then directly asked Jonathon if he wanted to pursue a romantic relationship with Jenn, to which Jonathon replied he wasn’t sure and preferred to remain open-minded.
Reflecting on why things didn’t progress between them initially, Jenn revealed on Off the Vine that it came down to doubts about managing a long-distance relationship, with Jonathon being uncertain about the logistics.
Since Jenn lives in Miami and Jonathon is based in California, neither was willing to relocate, making the prospect of a serious relationship difficult. As a result, they mutually agreed that if their hearts weren’t fully invested, it wouldn’t be worth pursuing. Jonathon ended up placing third on Jenn’s season, behind winner Devin Strader and runner-up Marcus Shoberg.
He later shared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast that, after their Fantasy Suite date, he knew he was going home because something crucial was missing from their connection.
Although their relationship was easy and free from drama, Jonathon acknowledged they lacked the final spark needed to move forward. Regretting that he didn’t open up sooner, Jonathon left the show feeling as though he had stood in his own way of finding true love.
Jenn ultimately got engaged to Devin during the Final Rose Ceremony in Hawaii, but during the finale, she revealed how he ended the engagement with a brief phone call in early August, which left her heartbroken. If things don’t work out with Jenn, Jonathon has been invited to look for love on Bachelor in Paradise’s tenth season next year.
