Jamie Foxx embraces his role as a devoted father to his daughters. The actor first became a parent in 1994 with the birth of his daughter Corinne, now 30, from his previous relationship with Connie Kline. It was not until 2009 that he welcomed his second daughter, Anelise Bishop, who is currently 15, with ex Kristin Grannis.
In a 2017 interview with PEOPLE, Foxx reflected on the challenges of raising his daughters in the entertainment industry. He stated, “In this business, things can get hectic, but we’re incredibly proud of them. They’ve turned out well.”

When discussing his favorite aspect of fatherhood during Ellen Digital’s series Dad Confessions, Foxx mentioned how much he cherishes hearing his daughters call him “dad.”
He elaborated, “It brings me joy to see their faces light up when I enter a room. Helping them pass challenges I’ve faced brings me great satisfaction, along with that daily dose of dad anxiety, hoping they’re alright.”
His daughters stand as his strongest supporters. In April 2023, Corinne took to Instagram to inform fans about a “medical complication” her father faced while filming Back In Action in Atlanta.
A few months later, Foxx expressed his gratitude to Corinne for safeguarding his privacy during that difficult time. “Honestly, my sister Deidra and my daughter Corinne saved my life,” he shared in an Instagram video.
“I can’t express how wonderful it feels to have my family rally around me like that,” he noted, emphasizing their efforts to keep things confidential and protect him. Since then, Foxx has only spoken vaguely about the illness that kept him away for “20 days.”

Corinne Foxx, 30
Born on February 15, 1994, in Los Angeles, Corinne Foxx attended Sierra Canyon School before studying public relations at the University of Southern California. Following her graduation, she pursued acting at the Howard Fine Acting Studio and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, mirroring her father’s career path.
The budding actress has appeared in various films and television shows, including 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, Safety, and Dollface. She also co-hosts the game show Beat Shazam with her father.
In May 2024, she told PEOPLE how much she enjoys collaborating with Foxx on the show. “I think our relationship is typical for a father and daughter; we tease each other a lot. It’s all love, and it’s a blessing to work with family, making it feel like home.”
During a 2019 interview with PEOPLE Now, Corinne described her father as “the most supportive dad in the world,” crediting his encouragement for her confidence to pursue various endeavors.
Corinne made her modeling debut in 2014 for the accessories brand Icing. Anelise Bishop, 15
Anelise Bishop was born on October 3, 2008, in Los Angeles. While Corinne shares her father’s passion for acting, Anelise exhibits her musical talents. In an August 2020 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Foxx revealed that Anelise has been learning piano. “It’s been great for us to connect through music,” he said.
“My 11-year-old now plays the piano so well that she accompanies me while I sing,” he added. “She declared, ‘I’m going on tour with you.’ I feel blessed; we all are.”
In January 2022, Foxx brought Anelise to a private concert in Dallas. During the evening, she played his song “In Love By Now” on the piano as he sang along. A guest shared with PEOPLE, “Jamie is such a caring father, always by her side, even leaving the party early to tuck her in.”
