A Friends reunion took place with Courteney Cox and Brad Pitt! After nearly 23 years since his guest appearance on the iconic NBC sitcom alongside then-wife Jennifer Aniston, Pitt, 60, and Cox, 60, reunited at the Rock4EB fundraising event on Saturday, September 21, in Malibu, California.
The two posed for a photo together at the star-studded gathering, which also featured Pitt’s girlfriend Ines de Ramon, singer Pink, actress Kaley Cuoco, and more.
Hosted by Judd Apatow, the Rock4EB event kicked off at 4 p.m. local time at a private residence, featuring performances by Pink, 45, and Dallas Green, along with dinner, cocktails, and a silent auction, as detailed on the Rock4EB website. Founded in 2013, this event aims to raise funds for research into epidermolysis bullosa, a rare skin condition.
Pitt made his Friends cameo during the show’s eighth season in November 2001, appearing in the episode titled “The One with the Rumor.” He played Will Colbert, a member of the “I Hate Rachel” club in high school, alongside Ross Geller, portrayed by David Schwimmer.
At that time, Pitt was married to Aniston, 55, who portrayed Rachel Green. The couple was married for five years before their divorce in 2005, but they have maintained a friendly relationship.
During a conversation with Access alongside Cox and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay) while promoting their HBO Max reunion special, Aniston and her co-stars reflected on their favorite guest stars from the series.
After recalling performances by actors like Ben Stiller, Reese Witherspoon, and Paul Rudd, Aniston fondly mentioned her ex-husband. “Mr. Pitt was wonderful,” she reminisced, prompting Kudrow, 61, to add, “He was fantastic,” while Cox nodded in agreement.
At the Rock4EB event, Cox spoke to PEOPLE about the show’s 30th anniversary and her last viewing of an episode. “It’s just insane to me because time goes so fast, and I don’t realize it,” she remarked about the milestone celebrated on Sunday. “We used to say, ‘Oh, I can’t wait for this month,’ or ‘It feels like forever.’ I would never say that line anymore.”
Reflecting on her character Monica Geller’s enduring legacy in pop culture, Cox humorously stated, “Monica is alive and well. Are you kidding?” Though she cherishes her memories of the series, Cox admitted to PEOPLE that she hasn’t seen an episode “in a little while, but whenever I do come across it, I can’t help but watch.”
She concluded, “That show is incredible. Every joke holds up, all the characters are just so amazing, and we had the best writers in the world. I’m lucky that it continues on through all the generations. That’s very fortunate.”
