The potential for a sports career looms for Alexis Ohanian’s daughter Olympia, but her parents prioritize ensuring she is compensated fairly first. During the ADWEEK Brandweek conference on September 23, the Reddit co-founder, 41, reminisced about a pivotal moment regarding Olympia’s future.
“We were watching the final of the World Cup in 2019 from our rented house in Wimbledon,” he recounted. “Olympia was running around in her Alex Morgan jersey, and I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be amazing if she played on a national team someday?'”

Serena Williams, his wife and a tennis legend, promptly interjected, stating, “Not until they pay her what she’s worth.” Ohanian acknowledged her point, replying, “Touché, okay, challenge accepted.” This conversation inspired him to purchase a team and contribute to the necessary changes in sports.
Ohanian and Williams share two daughters: Olympia, who is now 7, and Adira, who is just 12 months old. In early September, Ohanian took to Instagram to showcase a collection of photos from a trip to New York City with Olympia, celebrating her recent birthday. The father-daughter pair enjoyed a playdate, visited Milk Bar, and spent time at the American Girl Store.
Reflecting on their weekend, Ohanian expressed how quickly Olympia is growing up in his caption. “Beautiful weekend with our SEVEN-year-old Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. 🥹 My heart is full.”
He continued, “We got to celebrate the final days of being six in Papa’s birthplace. 🗽 @olympiaohanian, your mama and I love you more with every passing year. My life changed on September 1, 2017. 🙏 Thank you.” In May, Ohanian discussed his daughters’ bond with PEOPLE, noting that Adira brings out Olympia’s nurturing side.
“Olympia enjoys playing much more with her sister now,” he remarked, highlighting their interactions. “Despite the age gap, she exhibits a maternal spirit, proudly declaring, ‘This is my baby.’ It’s wonderful to witness their connection.”
The joyful father described how they engage in playful activities together. “We feel fortunate because Adira has an amazing personality, and Olympia is thrilled to be a big sister.
Watching their dynamic has been uniquely delightful. As Adira becomes more mobile and vocal, the fun will only escalate.” Ohanian humorously added, “I suppose they’ll eventually squabble over things, but for now, let me bask in this bliss.”
