Lenny Kravitz Posts Heartfelt Airport Selfie with Frankie Valli: ‘Respect You, Sir’

Kravitz has been actively touring to promote his latest album

What a memorable airport encounter! On September 29, Lenny Kravitz shared selfies on Instagram with the legendary Frankie Valli after they bumped into each other at the airport while traveling.

Kravitz expressed his admiration for Valli, writing, “Just ran into the legendary Frankie Valli at the airport. Nothing but respect for you, sir.” The 60-year-old Grammy-winning artist praised Valli’s impressive career, noting his endless hits and continued touring at the age of 90.

In the photos, Kravitz donned a sweater, leather jacket, and sunglasses, smiling while posing with the 90-year-old Valli, who sported glasses and a stylish jacket.

This year, Kravitz has been actively touring to promote his latest album, Electric Blue Light. He has upcoming performances scheduled in Las Vegas and New Jersey this fall, followed by a series of shows in Latin America.

Earlier this month at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, Kravitz received the award for best rock for his song “Human,” dedicating the honor to his late mother, Roxie Roker, who passed away from cancer in 1995 at age 66.

Expressing his gratitude, Kravitz said in a preshow interview on MTV, “Wow. This is incredible. I am so grateful. Thirty-one years ago, my mother was with me at an award show, at the VMAs, so I dedicate this to her.

I thank God for this journey, this incredible journey. I thank Jesus for life.” Reflecting on his health around his 89th birthday in May 2023, Valli shared with PEOPLE that he felt “pretty good.”

He remarked, “It’s just another year, the way I look at it. So far, knock on wood, my health has been good enough so that I can drive — I have all my marbles and I’m always interested in learning.” Valli enjoys reading scripts and exploring new music for inspiration.

While considering retirement, the “Sherry” singer reassured fans that he intends to continue performing for the foreseeable future. “I’ll probably tour until I can’t do it anymore, but even if it’s a limited amount of touring, it’s something I love, and I love people. If it weren’t for people, I would not have had a career in the music business,” he stated.

Valli emphasized the importance of his fans, noting, “It’s those guys that really went out and bought the product as you made it, loved you, and came to see you. When you go to a different city and work in a different venue, it’s like visiting friends. That’s the best way I can put it.” He has numerous North American tour dates lined up through 2025.
