Melissa McCarthy and her husband, Ben Falcone, are marking a huge milestone in their lives together. On October 8, McCarthy shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram to celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary, referring to Falcone as her “best friend.”
In her post, the Emmy-winning actress expressed her joy with the caption, “19 years ago I became the luckiest gal in the world.” The accompanying photo features the couple dressed in matching red vests adorned with heart pins, white turtlenecks, and playful retro aviator sunglasses.
They are seen striking silly poses in front of a large heart-shaped installation made of red balloons and streamers, arms raised in celebration. “I’m grateful every day,” McCarthy continued, “that I married my best friend and a fellow wig wearer!!!”
The couple tied the knot on October 8, 2005, having first crossed paths as teenagers before reconnecting in a comedy class at The Groundlings in Los Angeles.
They share two daughters, Vivian, 17, and Georgette, 14, and founded their production company, On the Day Productions, in 2013. The company has produced films such as Tammy (2014) and Thunder Force (2021), both of which starred the couple.
The image from McCarthy’s anniversary post was taken during a 2013 photoshoot for The Hollywood Reporter. Reflecting on the experience, McCarthy joked, “We were going to do a glamorous shot, and we just kept going back to, ‘We should do some bad characters.’ We spent so much time with Groundlings that this is our neutral.”
Throughout their nearly two-decade marriage, the pair has shared glimpses of their lives on social media. In a 2020 Instagram post celebrating their 15th anniversary, McCarthy described Falcone as “the kindest, funniest, and weirdest human I’ve ever met.”
Recently, McCarthy has posted a humorous video of Falcone celebrating his birthday on August 25, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at her appearance on season 4 of Only Murders in the Building. Upcoming projects for her include a limited series about JonBenét Ramsey for Paramount+.
