Charlie has provided clarity on her current relationship with Eve after both of them decided to exit MAFS UK 2024. The last time they interacted was during a heated commitment ceremony, and Charlie has now stated that she hasn’t “seen or spoken” to Eve since that moment on the couch.
In a conversation with The Sun, Charlie expressed, “The last time I saw or spoke to Eve was on that sofa at the last commitment ceremony. Me and Eve do not have a relationship at all.”
When asked whether she believes Eve was the “real bully,” Charlie chose not to label anyone, saying, “I’m not here to name call, but let’s just say I sleep very well at night knowing that deep down me and Eve are the only ones who know what really went down and the actual truth, and we both know I’m not a bully.”
Earlier, Charlie shared her insights on the MAFS UK: It’s Official! podcast with Chloe Burrows, discussing the breakdown of her relationship with Eve during the show.
She highlighted a specific “turning point” that made her realize their relationship was beyond repair and mentioned what Eve could have done differently to potentially salvage it.
Chloe prompted Charlie to elaborate on the communication issues that arose during their honeymoon, asking, “We saw communication slightly break down on the honeymoon. Do you want to walk us through a little bit of that?”
In her response, Charlie noted, “I think we both had very different communication styles, but at the same time I think we’re both very energetic people and big characters. When disagreements occurred, it often felt like someone was trying to get the upper hand.”
Charlie continued, “It’s hard because I think we’re so passionate that we just didn’t connect when it came to discussing things calmly. I was still holding onto issues from the beginning that affected our dynamic.”
When Chloe inquired about a pivotal moment regarding Eve’s refusal to write a letter during the experts’ week on MAFS UK 2024, Charlie acknowledged it as a turning point in their relationship.
Charlie stated, “Yes. My brain clicked at that point. I felt like I was doing everything in my power, as suggested by the experts, to raise our relationship. However, any attempts to address our issues were met with resistance.”
She added, “Perhaps if she had taken the time to write the letter and been more honest and open with me, things could have turned out differently. We signed up for this, and we understood what to expect. We needed to approach it with an open mind despite past conflicts.”
“If you’re going to agree to stay and move on, then let’s truly commit to that. From my perspective, that didn’t happen on Eve’s part. She seemed steadfast in her belief that I wasn’t the right person for her.”
Charlie concluded that by the time of the MAFS UK 2024 commitment ceremony, there was “no coming back” for their relationship, which she described as “long gone.”
