Jennifer Love Hewitt and Brian Hallisay have been married since 2013, sharing three children together. Before settling down with Hallisay, the “Ghost Whisperer” actress had several high-profile relationships, including a brief romance with musician John Mayer in the early 2000s.
Interestingly, she also had a short-lived fling with Ben Flajnik, a former star of “The Bachelor,” who ended things with Hewitt to pursue his role on the reality dating show. Flajnik, a finalist on Season 7 of “The Bachelorette,” reflected on his brief connection with Hewitt during a February 2023 episode of the “She’s All Bach” podcast.
He explained, “We went on a few dates and spent some time together,” adding that Hewitt had encouraged him to skip “The Bachelor.” However, Flajnik noted that it was already too late since he had signed the necessary contracts. Given how short their time together was, Flajnik admitted he wasn’t deeply affected by the breakup, stating, “We only dated for a couple of weeks—I wasn’t going to pass on the opportunity to do the show.”
Hewitt’s involvement with Flajnik began during his 2011 appearance on “The Bachelorette,” where he competed for Ashley Hebert’s affection but lost to J.P. Rosenbaum. After his elimination, Hewitt expressed her support on X (formerly known as Twitter), playfully suggesting that Flajnik take her “final rose” instead.
Their meeting didn’t take long, as they were spotted together at Lion’s Pub in San Francisco just days after her tweet. Interestingly, she didn’t need to visit Flajnik’s hometown of Sonoma to meet him in person.
According to Us Weekly, Flajnik had initially been at the bar with San Francisco Giants player Cody Ross, which Hewitt later confirmed in an interview with Ryan Seacrest. She clarified that their meeting was a coincidence and downplayed her earlier tweet, which many had taken too seriously. Eventually, Flajnik went on to propose to contestant Courtney Robertson during his season on “The Bachelor.”
Both Hewitt and Flajnik have since moved on to other partners. In an interview with People in December 2011, Flajnik reflected on his decision to pursue the show over a relationship with Hewitt, stating, “Ending up with a Hollywood celebrity wasn’t what I wanted in the long run.” Flajnik later married a non-celebrity, Christina, in October 2023.
