A shared love for all things horror recently brought Larry Birkhead and his daughter, Dannielynn, to Galaxy Con’s Nightmare Weekend in Miami. On October 20, the 51-year-old photographer took to Instagram to share photos from their spooky outing, where they enjoyed meeting cast members from Terrifier, a popular cult horror film directed by Damien Leone.
In the images, Dannielynn, the 18-year-old daughter of the late Anna Nicole Smith, embraced the eerie spirit of the event by dressing as the “Little Pale Girl,” a character from Terrifier. Larry captioned the post, “Had a Terrifying weekend meeting the cast of the ‘Terrifier’ at @galaxyconmiami Nightmare Weekend. Dannielynn wanted to dress up as the ‘Little Pale Girl’ from the film.”
One photo featured the duo posing with David Howard Thornton, who was in full costume as his menacing clown character, Art the Clown. Dannielynn sported clown makeup with a blood-splattered black-and-white dress and a small white top hat, while Larry kept it casual with a Terrifier T-shirt, black cap, and gray jeans.
The gallery also included a picture of Dannielynn standing next to someone dressed as Michael Myers from the Halloween franchise. Other snapshots captured moments with Thornton and Leone at their booth, along with Terrifier star Lauren LaVera, who received high praise from fans for her performance in the horror series.
During their interaction with Thornton, the actor expressed admiration for Anna Nicole Smith, telling Dannielynn how iconic her mother was. Larry described this moment in his post, writing, “We got lucky enough to take a picture with @davidhowardthornton in his ‘Art The Clown’ costume. Then, we had a chance to chat with him afterward. He was so kind and humble, sharing with Dannielynn how iconic her mother was, which made the moment truly special.”
Larry also shared their encounter with Damien Leone, calling him the “talented director and the brains behind this fresh take on the horror flick.” He added that Lauren LaVera’s performance as Sienna had been earning rave reviews, calling her both “brilliant and beautiful.” Encouraging his followers to watch the latest installment in the slasher series, Larry mentioned that Terrifier 3 hit theaters on October 11.
Dannielynn is no stranger to cosplay and enjoys dressing up for conventions. In August, she and Larry attended the Power Morphicon convention in Pasadena, California. On Instagram, Larry shared a photo of them posing together in front of a step-and-repeat backdrop.
At the event, Dannielynn displayed her love for Japanese live-action television by cosplaying as multiple characters from Kamen Rider. Larry wrote, “Dannielynn cosplayed three different ‘Kamen Rider’ characters.
She started with ‘Hino Eiji,’ followed by ‘Ankh’ (@ryosuke.miura216), and closed out the convention by cosplaying as Ankh possessing Eiji from the ‘Kamen Rider OOO 10th: Core Medal of Resurrection’ movie—complete with Ankh’s bird-like hand and feathered hair.”
