Onstage, Taylor Swift seemingly paid tribute to her football star boyfriend, Travis Kelce. During her Eras Tour concert at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Friday, October 25, the 34-year-old singer mirrored one of Kelce’s signature moves, leading fans to believe it was a subtle nod to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who is 35.
While singing the outro to “Midnight Rain,” Swift imitated throwing a football as she performed the lines: “And he never thinks of me / Except when I’m on TV.” A video captured by a fan on X (formerly Twitter) showcased this moment, igniting excitement among Swifties who interpreted the gesture as a reference to her football-playing boyfriend.
“TRAVIS CATCH THE BALL,” exclaimed one fan. Another chimed in with a playful inquiry, “@newheightshow @JasonKelce is this proper football form?” referencing the podcast hosted by Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce, a former player for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Another fan humorously remarked, “She’s just tayvoodooing for the Chiefs in February,” hinting at the upcoming 2025 Super Bowl set to be held at the Caesars Superdome, where the Chiefs have enjoyed back-to-back victories in recent years.
In agreement, one user commented, “She just cemented a Chiefs Super Bowl win with this tayvoodoo.” A third added, “A few months later when the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, we are going to look back at this video and say, ‘This is when I knew the Chiefs had it.'”
Swift has previously featured Travis in her Eras Tour performances. On occasion, she strikes an archer pose during “Midnight Rain,” mimicking his touchdown celebration move by pretending to shoot an arrow.
The 14-time Grammy winner is also known for altering the lyrics to “Karma” when Kelce is present in the audience, singing, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me.” Since beginning her record-breaking Eras Tour in March 2023, Swift has performed across five continents and visited numerous cities, with the tour concluding in December.
After the concerts held during the weekend of October 25-27 in New Orleans, the remaining performances are scheduled to take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Rogers Centre in Toronto, and BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.
