Life as a family of three is treating Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse very well. The couple, who welcomed their baby daughter in March, are making the most of their time in Los Angeles and are reportedly “doing great,” according to a source who spoke with PEOPLE.
The source shared that “They are very much in love and happy.” They have established a routine where they alternate work commitments, ensuring that one of them is always available to care for their daughter.
“Rob’s an amazing dad,” the insider remarked. “They are both great parents and truly enjoy it. They travel together as a family and love to bring their daughter along.” In L.A., the family enjoys various activities together, including hiking, grabbing coffee, and simply relishing their downtime between projects.
“Everything is pretty normal,” the source noted. “They are working parents who appreciate a quiet, simple family life during their time off.” Earlier this month, the couple made their first public appearance since the arrival of their daughter, whose name has not been revealed, at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in L.A.
For the occasion, Pattinson, 38, donned a blue suit while Waterhouse, 32, opted for a belted floral Antonio Marras hourglass dress. The couple appeared to relish their rare outing without their baby as they posed for photos and enjoyed the polo matches.
In July, Waterhouse discussed on a podcast how she and Pattinson are adjusting to their roles as first-time parents, noting that parenthood has been a learning experience for them both.
“We were both actually just like, let’s just be surprised. Let’s just see what it’s like and let’s be surprised by the whole thing,” she reflected on The Run-Through with Vogue podcast. “But those first two weeks were absolutely insane. You spend so much time just imagining what it’s gonna be like. And I think for me, it just felt like this transition.”
She also expressed appreciation for Pattinson’s parenting skills, calling him the “greatest” dad and mentioning that he even enjoys some of the more challenging tasks, like “diaper changing.” “He thinks it’s fun,” she added, referring to the surprises of parenthood.
Waterhouse opened up on Emma Chamberlain’s Anything Goes podcast about the challenges of raising her daughter in the public eye, acknowledging that “it’s gonna get harder and harder” as she grows older.
“If she’s going to have a life where I bring her out, that’s what I care about more,” she said. “I care more about being peaceful and showing her the world than hiding her inside. I want her to have a cool life.”
