Nikki Reed remains open to the possibility of returning to acting, although she is uncertain when that might occur. During her appearance on the red carpet for the 34th annual Environmental Media Association’s awards in Los Angeles on October 26, she shared with PEOPLE that she prefers not to make any definitive declarations about her acting career.
“I don’t focus on anything else. My schedule is incredibly packed; I work over 90 hours a week,” stated Reed, who is both the CEO and co-founder of the sustainable jewelry brand Bayou with Love and also runs a supplement company called The Absorption Company.
At the moment, she is fully engaged in managing her company and has recently launched a joint venture with The Absorption Company. “I can’t envision redirecting my energy elsewhere, but I’m not closing any doors,” she noted.
Having been married to actor Ian Somerhalder since 2015, Reed’s most recent acting role was in the 2019 Netflix series V-Wars, which featured her husband, 45. She gained fame for her performances in the 2003 film Thirteen and as Rosalie Hale, a vampire and Edward Cullen’s adoptive sister, in the Twilight saga.
Reed and Somerhalder are parents to two children: Bodhi, 7, and a son born in June 2023. Over the past five years, Somerhalder has also stepped back from acting, explaining to PEOPLE in September that he has shifted his focus to producing, environmental initiatives, and parenting.
“With all humility and respect, I’d much rather do this than spend two months in another city filming a TV show away from my family or shuttling them back and forth,” he remarked at that time.
