Russell Brand, actor, comedian, and podcast host, recently posted a video on social media asking his followers how they would “vote for God” during the upcoming 2024 U.S. presidential election. The caption of the Instagram post read, “America’s BIG DECISION – How Do You Vote For God?”

In the video, Brand suggested that the U.S. stands at a critical juncture in history, referencing the 2024 election as a momentous decision. To frame his message, he quoted from the Old Testament book of Job, emphasizing a biblical call to decision-making, using the scripture from Joel 3:14: “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!”

Brand’s message was one of reflection, asking his followers to consider whether they feel the world is on the brink of a significant choice.

He posed the question of what values and principles would bring individuals, families, communities, and countries closer to God. He asked his audience what kind of decisions could be made to manifest God’s kingdom on Earth, encouraging them to contemplate the deeper implications of their choices in the upcoming election.

As Brand continued, he spoke about humanity’s fallen nature, noting that the world itself, along with its institutions, is in a state of decay. He highlighted what he sees as a dominance of “dark power” in high places, where worldliness and carnality have taken precedence, suggesting that society is yielding to evil forces.

His remarks pointed to a broader critique of societal values, where spiritual and moral principles seem to be in decline, and where people are struggling to live according to divine guidance.

Brand’s video also raised the question of personal responsibility, urging his followers to reflect on the impact of their votes and actions.

He asked them, “What decision can you make, do you believe?” and challenged them to consider which leaders and values they should support to bring them closer to God. He invited viewers to share their thoughts in the comments section, seeking a conversation about faith, politics, and morality.

In recent years, Brand has shown an increasing interest in Christianity. He was baptized in April and has expressed how embracing Christianity has brought significant changes in his life. While acknowledging that his personal transformation is ongoing, Brand has discussed how his new faith has altered his perspective, especially regarding redemption.

He shared his thoughts in a TikTok video in May, where he explained that accepting Christianity has reshaped his understanding of life and the importance of spiritual growth over worldly achievements.
