Former President Donald Trump has pledged that, if re-elected, he will give religious leaders direct access to the Oval Office. Speaking at the National Faith Summit in Powder Springs, Georgia, he promised to reinstate the Faith Office he originally established during his first term.

Trump emphasized that he considers religion crucial to America’s identity and governance. When asked about the specifics by Paula White-Cain, who served in his administration and moderated the event, Trump confirmed that his approach would involve a streamlined line of communication between faith leaders and the president’s office.

Trump stated that his vision for a faith office would be centered in the Oval Office itself, allowing him to communicate directly with faith leaders on issues they consider important. White-Cain echoed this sentiment, affirming Trump’s commitment to ensuring faith-based issues are prioritized in a second term.

She noted that Trump believes that maintaining strong ties with all faith communities is critical to the nation’s strength. Trump’s approach appears to be aimed at reinforcing the idea that faith and governance are closely linked in his vision for America.

Additionally, Trump announced Dr. Ben Carson, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, as the National Faith Chairman for his campaign. Carson, a longtime ally of Trump and a figure known for his religious convictions will work to strengthen ties with faith communities.

Trump criticized the current administration, particularly Vice President Kamala Harris and the “radical left,” accusing them of undermining religious freedom. He argued that Carson’s appointment reflects his commitment to protecting religious liberties and that Carson will be a strong advocate for religious communities.

Carson expressed gratitude for the role and stressed the importance of faith in the upcoming election. He committed to working closely with faith leaders to support Trump’s campaign, positioning Trump as the only candidate in the race who has consistently defended religious freedom. Carson described Trump as a reliable advocate for faith communities, underscoring his belief that Trump’s past actions speak to his dedication to protecting religious liberties.

Last year, Trump announced plans to create a task force focused on combating anti-Christian bias, highlighting what he sees as increasing discrimination and persecution of Christians in the United States. Trump stated that Christians are under attack, asserting that Americans of faith are integral to the nation’s foundation and spirit.

This task force would prioritize investigations into discrimination against Christians, reinforcing Trump’s narrative of faith as central to the nation’s identity and his commitment to protecting religious rights if re-elected.
