Masked Intruders Burglarize Windsor Castle Estate, Sparking New Security Concerns for King Charles

New Security Concerns for King Charles

A recent burglary at a property on the Windsor Castle estate has raised concerns, especially considering its proximity to where Prince William, Princess Kate, and their children were staying.

The incident, which took place on October 13 but was only reported on November 13, involved masked thieves who broke into a farm building on Shaw Farm, located within the Windsor Castle grounds.

According to Thames Valley Police, the culprits stole a black Isuzu pick-up truck and a red quad bike, then fled towards the Old Windsor/Datchet area. The burglars managed to scale a six-foot fence at Shaw Farm and escaped by breaking through a gate using one of the stolen vehicles.

This occurred alarmingly close to Adelaide Cottage, where Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were reportedly sleeping with their parents at the time. The family often uses the gate the thieves damaged as their nearest exit, as noted by The Sun.

Sources suggest the robbers likely had prior knowledge of the vehicles being kept there and timed their break-in carefully to avoid detection. One insider remarked that they “must have been watching Windsor Castle for a while.” Meanwhile, the King and Queen were not at Windsor Castle during the burglary.

The same source mentioned that while there are alarms at Windsor Castle, the authorities only became aware of the break-in when the burglars crashed through the Shaw Farm Gate’s security barrier.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the crime. This break-in is the second security breach at Windsor Castle this year. Earlier in February, an unarmed intruder was found in the gardens outside the King’s apartments.

In 2022, a man disguised as a priest spent the night on castle grounds, and in December 2021, a crossbow-wielding intruder climbed a fence, threatening to kill Queen Elizabeth.
