Andy Cohen, known for moderating reunions of the Real Housewives franchises, surprised fans with a revelation about reconnecting with a former cast member from The Real Housewives of New York City. At the 2024 Bravo Fan Fest in Miami, he shared that he had recently reconciled with Carole Radziwill after their years-long estrangement.
Reflecting on their renewed friendship, Cohen explained, “Carole and I have known each other for years, even before she joined the Housewives. It’s been wonderful to reconnect after all this time.” Despite not revealing many details, he expressed that the reunion was a positive experience, noting their long history together outside the show.
Radziwill, who had been estranged from Cohen for six years, echoed his sentiments, telling PEOPLE that their fallout was a product of the intense environment of the show rather than any personal animosity. “We both realized that our disagreements were more about the pressures of the show than our actual friendship,” she said. “I’m happy that Andy and I are on the same page now.”
Their falling out, which occurred after the RHONY season 10 reunion in 2018, remains a memorable moment for fans. The reunion centered largely on Radziwill’s fractured relationship with co-star Bethenny Frankel.
During the reunion, Cohen appeared to take Frankel’s side, which led Radziwill to accuse him of being biased. “It was clear to me—and to the audience—that Andy was supporting Bethenny in a way I had never seen him do before,” Radziwill said in 2019.
Cohen, however, clarified that he was simply trying to maintain balance between the two women, stating, “I wasn’t picking sides. I was just calling out the fact that both of them had been talking about each other.”
The exchange became heated when Cohen made a comment about Radziwill’s actions that she felt was unfair. “I thought it was very Trumpian of her,” Cohen remarked, which upset Radziwill, who later responded on social media, emphasizing that Cohen was creating false equivalencies.
Radziwill left RHONY after season 10, citing a waning interest in reality television. “I was ready to move on to projects that fit my personality better,” she said in 2018. Her departure stirred further controversy when she posted on Instagram, questioning if she would continue in a situation that didn’t align with her values, sparking Cohen’s ire.
He felt her comments implied he had put her in a toxic environment, which he denied. “I really changed her life,” Cohen remarked in 2021, clearly still feeling the sting of her criticisms. Radziwill did not back down, taking to social media to push back, asserting that Cohen owed his success to the Housewives franchise, while she had found her own path. “Housewives changed Andy’s life, not mine,” she declared.
Their discord remained largely under the radar until 2024, when Cohen made headlines for calling out Radziwill after an anonymous source in New York Magazine criticized the Housewives franchise’s evolution.
Cohen was certain that Radziwill was the source of the quotes, leading to another round of public exchanges between them. In her response, Radziwill suggested that Cohen’s reaction proved the vindictive nature of the quote, further fueling the tension between the two.
